Environmental Technician Description

Responsibilities include managing and monitoring landfill gas extraction systems, such as flare and blower stations, as well as overseeing condensate and emissions management. You will perform routine and non-routine maintenance and repairs on gas control systems and pneumatic pumps, operate site vehicles and equipment, and conduct explosive gas monitoring. The role also involves occasional travel to various landfill sites for construction and maintenance tasks, including HDPE pipe fusion.

Requirements 

  • Must be 19 years of age or older.

  • Must possess a valid driver's license​​ in good standings. 

  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently.

  • Must work well with other technicians on a small crew or team.

  • Must be willing to travel and stay in hotels overnight.

  • Must be capable of walking long distances, working extended hours, and lifting/carrying over 50 lbs.

  • Must have the ability to stand, lift, push, pull, bend and twist to complete daily tasks.

  • Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in safely operating vehicles and equipment including trucks and smaller machinery.

  • The ability to work safely in extreme hot and cold weather conditions.

  • Having previous experience in Landfill or Construction industries is preferred.

  • Fluency in multiple languages is desirable.

  • Possession of specialized certifications or training is considered a bonus.
